Updates to Microsoft Office 365 Secure Score

We have received a lot of feedback from the Tech Community on how to make Secure Score better and it is greatly appreciated by the team.  When reviewing your feedback and feedback from other organizations, a few requests were coming up regularly.  Some of what we have heard is around the average score that you can compare yours against. In addition, we heard that determining what security controls had changed and influenced the score where hard to track down. Today we are happy to share that we are adding a couple of enhancements to Secure Score to help with this.

Many of you like the idea that you can compare your score to the average score of all Office 365 tenants. However, some have concerns about the relevance of this to your organization. Based on this feedback we have a new average for you to compare against. The average seat size score shows you a score based on organizations that have a similar number of Office 365 active seats. There are seven seat size groups that we put everyone in, 0-5, 6-99, 100-249, 250-999, 1,000-4,999, 5,000-19,999, and 20,000+. For example, if you have 1200 active seats of Office 365 we will show the average score of other tenants that have active seats between 1,000 and 4,999.

Coming soon we will be introducing an industry average score, this will show you how your score compares to other organizations that have designated the same industry in Secure Score or the Service Assurance page of the Security and Compliance Center.

Another enhancement we are adding is around making it easier to find how your score changed between two dates and what the impact was. Previously you had to click on the line graph in the Score Analyzer tab to choose your date and then take a screenshot or try to remember what actions were completed as you clicked on another date in the line graph.  To make this comparison easier, we have added a “Compare scores” option to the Score Analyzer tab.

Clicking this will allow you to select two dates that you would like to compare the scores on. Upon choosing the dates you will get a list of what controls changed between those dates, and whether the result caused an increase or decrease in the score.

Along the lines of making things easier, we know that finding controls in the action list can be a challenge when the list is long. To help find controls faster we are introducing a search field for the action queue. By typing characters in this field, we will filter down the view list to help you navigate to the actions faster.

And finally the reporting actions have had an overhaul. The reports in Azure have under gone a significant optimization in terms of making them easier to consume and more relevant. Previously when using the Azure classic portal there was a direct report and corresponding Secure Score control for that report. Under the new Azure Portal these reports have been consolidated. This blog post explains how the new mapping works and what the previous reports now map to.

Secure Score has been updated accordingly allowing us to reduce the number of Azure report controls to two (whilst still allowing the same points total). These updated controls now take you to the updated Azure Portal.

Microsoft Office returns to Las Vegas at SharePoint Conference (NA) 2018 (& Call for Content)

As you may have heard, we’re excited to have the capacity to praise the arrival of the SharePoint Community to Las Vegas this year!

SharePoint pages and image editing updates in Microsoft Office 365

At Ignite 2017, we declared the following flood of development coming to SharePoint pages to give quicker time to creation, improved control of content and pictures, expanded advancement alternatives, remarking and likes, and perceivability on how your substance is getting along. You are responsible for your message. Make it and get it out there to bring issues to light and engagement all through your organization.

We’re pleased to share that the below features and updates are rolling out to Targeted Release Office 365 customers. Expect them to appear within the coming days and weeks. And soon, beyond Targeted Release, they release to the full production environment. You can track release progress on the public Office 365 Roadmap; note this link is filtered on “SharePoint” items.

Let’s dive into the details.

Start from existing page

Don’t start from blank! If you have a series of pages you’ve created with a similar layout and design, you can now go to an existing page and use it as a quick start to create a whole new page – but with a head start. From an existing page, click New and then select Start with a copy of this page. The service will create the new page, and you simply jump into updating with new text, images and content updates, with layout, design and common text already in place. And per user feedback, pages (and news) have an improved canvas experience when adding and managing multi-column sections – it is more discoverable where and how you add a new section or web part – with less overlap of “+” buttons.

Make your text appear more like you like – rich text editing (RTE) updates

A standout amongst the most imperative parts of any powerful page or news article is the content. Furthermore, setting the correct setting close by the sight and sound perspectives you pull in. We’ve heard you boisterous and clear that you need to have a more prominent arrangement of alternatives to influence your message to emerge. Wish conceded!

When you include a Text web part, the installed rich content tool now gives you more noteworthy control for how your content shows up. From the inline basic charge bar, you can modify measure, strong, underline and separating. Also, the genuine, new, enchantment of the Text web part lies behind the ovals on the correct side of the straightforward summon bar. Tapping the ovals opens a more extensive arrangement of decisions – demonstrating all alternatives in the alter sheet, similar to text style, hues and features, indent, strikethrough, and the capacity to make and oversee tables. You, as well, can include a connection – which now has a page picker experience to include existing SharePoint content rapidly.

Image web part now allows editing and photos from Bing

You can easily add an image to a SharePoint page or news article, and now when you do, you can further edit (crop/zoom) it inline to fit the needs of your page/news and layout. You can pull in an image from online (powered by Bing) that are tagged as Creative Common license to enhance your pages and news. Once your images are on the page, you can edit them in line with simple gestures like adjusting the ratio and cropping.

Within an Image web part, tap on the image to bring up a selection of inline image editing tools.

Further promote your pages and news

Beyond your core team, it’s important to then amplify and spread the word proactively about your important content. This is now a one-click action. From an existing page, click the Promote button and choose how you want to increase the reach and impact of your message. You can add a page (or news article) to the site navigation. Or post a page as news to have it automatically flow into the site’s home page, the SharePoint home news section and the SharePoint mobile app News tab. You can kick start an email to a person or group with a preview of the page and an optional message to your selected recipients. Or simply grab a link to the page. Note, the Post as News on this site button may be grayed out if the page you are wanting to promote is already a news article. Also, the first time you publish your page, you’ll be prompted to help others find your page with the same promotion pane.

Clicking the Promote button at the top of the page (or news article) brings up the promotion pane to the right.

 Page usage Likes, Views, Comments

Once your information is out there, you want to know how it’s doing. Like the Site usage page – which gives site owners a view on how their users are interacting within the site, we introduce a similar view on information at the individual page and news article level.

At the bottom of each SharePoint page or news article you’ll see a row of information that tells you how many people have liked your content, how many left comments and total number of views. When you hover over the liked section, you’ll see a list of colleagues who like your ideas. And when you click on comments (and you left commenting on), you’ll jump right into the section at the bottom of the page to read feedback and engage with your audience. It, too, is now possible to click the like icon on an individual comment.

How to Work Offline in Microsoft Outlook? – Office setup +1-844-777-7886

With a Microsoft Exchange Server or Office 365 account, you can work offline to avoid connection charges or stop Outlook from attempting to send and receive messages over a slow network connection.

But outlook.com provides you the facility to work offline also.

How to Switch between Working Offline and Working Online in Microsoft Office 2016, 2013, 2010?

You know you’re working disconnected when Work Offline is featured on the strip or Working Offline shows up on the status bar at the base of the Outlook window.

When you’re prepared to work online once more, click Send/Receive > Work Offline.

The catch content doesn’t change, however it’s just featured when you’re working disconnected. Working Offline on the status bar likewise leaves when you’re working on the web.

How to Change : How Much Mail to Keep Offline?

Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

Select an Exchange account, and then click Change.

Under Offline Settings, move the slider to the desired amount of time, such as All, 12 months, 6 months, 3 months, or 1 month.

Office 365 Advanced eDiscovery – Analysis of non-Office 365 data is now available

Many organizations have data that resides outside of Office 365, including legacy file shares, archives or in other cloud services, that may be relevant to an eDiscovery case. Analysis of non-Office 365 data, which was announced back in September, is now available and allows organizations to import the case-specific copy of such data into a specifically assigned Azure container and analyze it using Office 365 Advanced eDiscovery. Having one eDiscovery workflow for both Office 365 and non-Office 365 data provides organizations with the consistency they need to make defensible decisions across the entire data set of a case. Please note that in addition to Advanced eDiscovery licenses, this feature requires the purchase of the eDiscovery Storage plan for all non-Office 365 data imported into the specifically assigned Azure container for analysis by Advanced eDiscovery. The eDiscovery Storage plan comes in increments of 500GB of storage and is priced at $100 per month. Read more here.

Updates to Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)

Expansion of ATP to additional Office 365 workloads – As announced back in September, Office 365 ATP has now expanded coverage to SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams, leveraging our signal strength, smart heuristics, machine learning, file detonation and reputation filters. Learn more about this significant enhancement to ATP.
Enhanced reporting – Starting this month, Office 365 ATP will also launch powerful new reporting capabilities. Reports will now be provided in near real-time and will also include a new set of reports:

  • Malware report – provides visibility into the malware families that have attacked a tenant
  • Submissions report – provides a report on potentially malicious emails which have been submitted to Microsoft by end-users
  • Phish report – provides information on all emails that are considered to be phishing emails

Enhanced anti-phish capabilities – ATP is likewise adding a few new capacities to alleviate phish. Track changes in the threat landscape for your tenant so that you can identify important changes in trends and targeted attacks (Trending Campaigns)
For custom indicators (like senders or URLs), you can track changes in trends and get alerted when trends change (Saved/trending queries)

Insider Fast: Outlook for Mac now supports creation of Microsoft Office 365 Groups!

The Outlook & Groups team is hard at work to continuously bring new Office 365 group capabilities to Outlook for Mac. You can now create a group, starting with the 16.9 (171226) release! Groups in Outlook for Mac is only available to Office 365 subscribers.

The create group command can be found in the Outlook menu, under File > New > Group.

The Last Roundup Of 2017 Year – Microsoft Tech Support

The Microsoft Tech Community has made its mark this year! This year we achieved 100,000 individuals, and alongside new item discharges, AMAs, challenges, Tech Summits and Microsoft Ignite, we’ve had an occupied and energizing year.

17. Microsoft Technical Communities

We absorbed Microsoft Technical Communities into our site in November. The Microsoft Tech Community now offers a space to give you access to content and speakers, and opportunities to promote your community events to a wider user-base.

 16. Tech Academy

In October, we launched the Tech Academy, accessible from the Microsoft Tech Community navigation bar. The Tech Academy unifies Microsoft‘s learning and readiness platforms for IT Professionals and Developers into a single place. It gives you access to a centralized repository of readiness content and lets you track your progress as you complete it. It’s a great, free resource and one more reason to stop by the Tech Community!

15. Win Big in the Tech Community!

We hosted a number of sweepstakes in the tech community, most notably for Office International, a community we launched in September (you could still win in the sweepstakes ending December 31!).

In April, we reached the amazing landmark of 50,000 members! We celebrated this great landmark with a 50K Celebration Puzzle.

13. Teams/Skype at Ignite

Microsoft Ignite was full of big product announcements! One of the biggest was around Teams eventually replacing Skype for Business with a new vision for Intelligent Communications.

12. Windows AMAs

Office has had a number of successful AMAs (Ask Microsoft Anything) events in the tech community. This year, we expanded to include Windows 10 with seven AMAs, starting in May with Windows as a service. Our most popular so far was Windows 10 deployment, with over 2000 unique visitors and over 9000 page views.

11. Cloud + Enterprise AMAs

The Azure Blockchain AMA in March was our first AMA among Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise products. We followed that up with 10 additional AMAs, five of which were for Windows Server. We had an exceptionally popular one around Co-management with Microsoft Intune and System Center Configuration Manager with over 900 unique visitors and almost 7000 page views.

 10. Microsoft Teams AMA and roadmap announcement

This was a big year for Microsoft Teams! Following up with their big Microsoft Ignite announcements, Microsoft Teams hosted a popular AMA in the tech community in October with nearly 2000 unique visitors and almost 6000 page views. Teams also posted a blog about the roadmap for Skype for Business capabilities coming to Microsoft Teams with nearly 60,000 page views.

Posts on Azure training resources in March and Azure Essentials free training in October proved to be valuable resources to the community.

7. Tech Community at Microsoft Ignite

The Microsoft Tech Community was proud to host a Community Lounge space at Microsoft Ignite with swag giveaways, takeover days, executives to meet, live podcasts, food and drink and so much more. In the Tech Community, you can view every session’s slides and video, save it as a resource for the future, and connect with the speaker to ask questions long after Microsoft Ignite.

Our Microsoft Ignite session content received a total of almost 125,000 page views! Some of our top viewed sessions include:

The SharePoint community remains one of our largest and most active, thanks to the product team and amazing members.
